A Brief History:

Thanks to Board member Bob Hinckey's donated legal expertise, along with the institution of dues, the integrity of Salmon Meadow Cove was preserved. The Association purchased a small portion of land so that no access to the area in question could be obtained from any outside groups. Al Rubin served the Board as Treasurer at its conception and continued for almost 40 years.

Krainewood Shores Association Accomplishments:

  • Oversight of the 4 septic systems within Krainewood Shores.

  • KSA oversaw the improvement of the main roads and successfully petitioned the Town of Moultonborough to take ownership responsibilities.

  • The Association maintains the non-town-owned roads. There are a variety of reasons that the Town hasn't accepted these roads. If they weren't maintained by the Association the town could refuse to plow them.

  • The Association combated a rising milfoil issue. Milfoil was introduced to the lake due to increased boat traffic,as well as Mr. Kraines' dredging to create waterfront property on what are now our canals. The KSA Board of Directors petitioned the state for permits over the course of several years to treat the water. As a result of their efforts, the state now manages the treatment of milfoil.

  • KSA purchased land to prevent developments that would have had a negative impact to Krainewood residents.

Mr. Peter Kraine started the development of Krainewood Shores sometime in the 1960's.

During the late 1960's the Krainewood Shores Association was formed, bringing several residents onto the Board. The purpose of the Association was to protect Krainewood Shores and its residents property values following Mr. Kraine's departure. One of the first issues K.S.A faced was a proposed trailer park in the northeast corner of Salmon Meadow Cove.
